It’s time to take a break and what better way to relax than taking your bestie on holiday? Head off on a road trip or park up and stay a while, no matter how much time you’ve got to spare, we’ve got the perfect location for you. Grab the frisbee, cancel the kennel membership and hit the road!

Grab your tent – we’re off camping

What better way to relax than to watch the stars surround you and your four-legged friend at a beautiful campground. While camping in national parks is generally off limits to dogs, there are still plenty of campgrounds in state parks that are the perfect location to take your dogs. Go on long walks during the day and snuggle up with your own personal hot water bottle at night.

Head to the (dog friendly) Park

Many state forests and regional parks welcome pets and their parents to wander the trails and get lost in the wonders of fauna and flora. Dogs will need to be kept on lead, but this gives you the perfect excuse to unwind whilst walking side-by-side with your best friend, sharing your deepest thoughts and wildest dreams as you go.

Cosy up in a cabin by the lake

We all know dogs love a good frolic through the water so what better place to go than a cabin by the lake. Giving you the best of both worlds, your four legged friend gets to frolic in the water during the day but you don’t have the dreaded ‘wet dog smell’ all the way home, instead it’s a quick bath to get your best friend smelling divine and then it’s time to curl up in a pet-friendly cottage, holiday home or apartment and while away the hours with a good book and a few biscuits for you and your best friend.

Beach time adventures

A visit to a pooch-friendly beach for an adventure filled day is the perfect way to spend your relaxation time. Try your hand at paddle boarding or surfing with your best friend on board (remember to bring a doggie lifejacket!) or spend the hours throwing a ball into the sea for your best friend to chase.

Wine country

While away an afternoon with a good wine or the perfect pint at the many pet friendly wineries our wonderful country has to offer. Wineries are an excellent place to visit with your dog, set in rural locations they give you a wonderful backdrop for some light walking before heading back for a glass of wine on the lawns or in front of a roaring fireplace. Don’t forget to pack the dog biscuits.

So next time you’re planning your holiday, don’t leave your furry friend behind, pack the lead, grab the water bowl and head off for some adventures together.
